In a world where e-commerce has a larger presence than ever before, the way in which retailers approach their packaging is more important than it ever has been. It’s important to give your online customers the same feeling and treatment they would receive if they were in your store.

It’s important to understand your e-commerce packaging options so they can be utilized to their fullest potential. That means that analyzing what you’re shipping, and what kind of mailer will best protect and fit your shipment, and how you can cost-effectively brand it so your customers get excited about receiving their package from you!

  • Poly Mailers – If your shipment does not contain breakable items, poly mailers are an excellent option. They are flexible yet tough, and most are tear and moisture resistant. Poly mailers can be printed inside and/or on the outer side, to ensure your logo and brand reached the customer. You can also wrap the items in custom printed tissue before inserting into the poly mailer, for one extra layer of protection, as we as additional “unwrapping” suspense.
  • Paper Mailers – Paper Mailers are worthwhile for items that are in need of moderate protection. Because they are lightweight in nature, they are cost-effective. These mailers can come with or without additional padding, like foam or bubble padding. These mailers can also be printed, internally or externally.
  • Corrugated Cartons – More durable than common cardboard, corrugated boxes provide the best option for shipments that include unwieldy and/or fragile components. They’re also an eco-friendly option. One of the more popular items are “roll-end tuck top” boxes – which can be plain on the outside, and completely printed on the inside. These boxes are perfect for adding custom printed tissue, or other types of lightweight “void fill” to ensure your products don’t move around too much in transit.

E-commerce packaging provides an opportunity that should not be missed; it is a tasteful, and relatively easy way to continue to promote your business. The experience your customer has will be impacted by the presence of your brand as it is showcased (or not) via packaging.
